DIN 553:1986 Slotted Cone Point Set Screw

DIN 553:1986 Slotted Cone Point Set Screw features a cone point and a slotted drive. The pointed end creates strong localized contact during tightening, making it suitable for applications requiring positive positioning, slip resistance, or slight penetration into the mating part.

The cone point works well with locating holes, shallow seats, or harder mating surfaces, improving axial or rotational holding capability. The simple slotted drive can be operated with conventional tools, making it practical for maintenance, adjustment, and small-batch assembly.

This set screw is used in shafts, hubs, couplings, adjustment mechanisms, stop devices, and fixture components. Alloy steel or stainless steel can be selected, with black oxide, phosphate, zinc plating, or other finishes used to improve corrosion resistance and appearance.
