Round Nuts

Round nuts have a flat disc profile with a threaded center bore and notched or hole-pattern periphery for hook spanner engagement, enabling secure axial locking in recessed shafts and bearings where hex nut access is impossible.

Peripheral Drive: The notched outer edge allows a hook or pin spanner to apply tightening torque without wrench flats, making installation practical in bores, housings, and around shaft assemblies with minimal radial clearance.

Application Scope: Used to retain bearings on shafts, lock adjustment rings in machine tool spindles, and secure components in hydraulic cylinders and gearboxes where space prohibits standard nut formats.

Materials and Standards: Produced in carbon steel and stainless steel to DIN 981 and ISO 2982 specifications, typically paired with a tab lock washer for additional rotational retention.

Surface Treatment: Zinc plating and blackening are available for industrial and precision machinery environments.

  • Simply put, a bolt is a cylindrical fastener with external threads. It works with a matching nut or is screwed directly into a threaded hole of the mating part to firmly hold two or more components together. To put it intuitively, think of it as a "metal nail." However, unlike a nail that is driven in with a hammer, a ...
