Rolling Screws

Rolling screws use a lobular thread form that cold-displaces workpiece material rather than cutting it, producing a tighter-fitting female thread with no swarf and superior strip resistance in aluminum, zinc die-cast, and thermoplastic assemblies.

Thread Formation: The three-lobe profile concentrates pressure at discrete contact zones during driving, plastically forming the substrate into a full female thread profile while preserving continuous material grain flow through the thread form.

Strength Advantage: Cold-formed threads in metal substrates are typically stronger than cut equivalents of the same size because thread root material is compressed and densified rather than severed by a cutting edge.

Application Scope: Preferred in aluminum die-cast housings, thin-wall zinc components, and thermoplastic enclosures in automotive, electronics, and consumer product manufacturing where thread reliability is a priority.

Materials and Standards: Produced in case-hardened steel and stainless steel to TAPTITE and DIN 7500 equivalent specifications.
