Lock Nuts

Lock nuts resist self-loosening under vibration, shock, and dynamic loading, maintaining clamping force where standard nuts would progressively lose preload and compromise joint integrity.

Nylon Insert Type: A nylon collar pressed into the nut top deforms around the bolt thread, creating persistent rotational friction that preserves clamp load without damaging the mating thread during installation or removal.

All-Metal Type: Prevailing-torque all-metal lock nuts use a mechanically deformed thread section for locking, retaining full effectiveness at elevated temperatures where nylon inserts would degrade or fail.

Application Scope: Widely specified for automotive engines, high-speed rotating machinery, outdoor structural connections, and any assembly subject to continuous vibration or impact loading.

Materials and Standards: Produced in carbon steel and stainless steel to DIN 985, DIN 982, ISO 7042, and ISO 7719, with zinc plating and stainless grades for corrosive environments.
