Square Nuts

Square nuts feature a four-sided profile that provides greater wrench contact area and excels where the nut must be embedded in a slot or channel to prevent rotation during tightening.

Slot and Channel Use: The flat sides mate cleanly with T-slots in aluminum profiles, injection molds, and machine fixtures, allowing tightening from the bolt side without additional tooling or nut retention.

Load Distribution: The wider flat bearing face spreads clamping load over a larger area than a standard hex nut, reducing contact stress on softer substrates such as plastics and aluminum sheet.

Anti-Rotation Function: When set in square pockets in castings or fabricated panels, the nut corners prevent rotation during assembly, eliminating the need for secondary anti-spin features.

Materials and Standards: Produced in carbon steel and stainless steel to DIN 557, DIN 562, and equivalent specifications, with zinc plating and galvanizing surface options.

  • Simply put, a bolt is a cylindrical fastener with external threads. It works with a matching nut or is screwed directly into a threaded hole of the mating part to firmly hold two or more components together. To put it intuitively, think of it as a "metal nail." However, unlike a nail that is driven in with a hammer, a ...
