Better Fastener Industry Co., Ltd. is a China-based U-Bolts manufacturer supplying pipe, exhaust, suspension and structural clamping fasteners in carbon steel and stainless steel. Our range covers DIN 3570:1968 DN20–DN500 pipe U-bolts and ASME B18.31.5 (US):2011 U-bolts, together with custom bend radii, leg lengths, thread lengths and coatings built to drawing or sample.
We support project teams that need one specification-led supply program: standard U-bolts, matching hexagon nuts, washers, custom packaging and consolidated export logistics from our Zhejiang base near Shanghai and Ningbo ports.
What We Manufacture in the U-Bolt Range
A U-bolt is a continuous curved rod with threaded legs on both ends. The curved body wraps around a pipe, tube or structural section, while a saddle plate and two nuts develop even clamping force on both legs. This makes the joint resistant to vibration and loosening without penetrating or deforming the enclosed component.
Our U-bolt production covers standard and non-standard configurations. We produce to DIN 3570:1968 for DN20–DN500 pipe sizes and to ASME B18.31.5 (US):2011 for inch-series applications, and we manufacture custom bend radii for pipe diameters outside these ranges.
Pipe & Tube U-Bolts
DIN 3570:1968 DN20–DN500 for plumbing, HVAC, process piping and utility runs. Hot-dip galvanized or stainless for outdoor and underground service.
Automotive & Exhaust U-Bolts
ASME B18.31.5 (US):2011 and custom profiles for exhaust systems, suspension links and chassis clamping where vibration resistance matters.
Structural & Utility U-Bolts
For poles, marine equipment, signage and general structural fixing. Available with extended legs, fine thread or coarse thread as required.
Application Fit and Material Selection
U-bolts are specified where a firm but non-penetrating attachment is required. Typical applications include pipe fixing in plumbing and HVAC, vehicle exhaust and suspension, outdoor utility poles, and marine equipment. The curved body distributes clamping load symmetrically around the pipe or section perimeter, so the enclosed component is held without being crushed or drilled.
Material choice follows the service environment. Carbon steel is suitable for general industrial and automotive use, while stainless steel grades are selected for outdoor, underground and marine corrosion exposure. Hot-dip galvanizing is available for carbon steel U-bolts that must withstand weathering or buried service.
| Configuration | Typical Application | Material / Finish | Key Specification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard pipe U-bolt | Plumbing, HVAC, process piping | Carbon steel, hot-dip galvanized | DIN 3570:1968, DN20–DN500 |
| Inch-series U-bolt | Automotive, exhaust, suspension | Carbon steel, stainless steel | ASME B18.31.5 (US):2011 |
| Custom bend radius | Non-standard pipe diameters | Carbon or stainless steel | Drawing or sample based |
| Marine / outdoor U-bolt | Marine equipment, utility poles | Stainless steel | Corrosion-resistant grade |
Critical Specifications We Confirm Before Production
U-bolt performance depends on matching the bend, thread and nut system to the actual pipe or section. We confirm the following variables before releasing a production order:
- Inside diameter and bend radius — set by the pipe or tube outside diameter, including clearance for coating or insulation.
- Leg length and thread length — determined by saddle plate thickness, nut height and required take-up.
- Rod diameter and thread pitch — matched to the clamping load and the mating nut series.
- Material grade — carbon steel or stainless steel according to corrosion exposure.
- Surface treatment — plain, hot-dip galvanized, blackened or stainless finish.
- Nut and washer pairing — supplied with matching hexagon nuts and washers where required.
Quality Control and Acceptance
We implement total quality management across the production process. Inspections are carried out after each process step, and finished U-bolts undergo final inspection in accordance with customer requirements and the applicable international standard.
Our in-house laboratory is equipped with a spectrometer, CMM, X-ray flaw detector and other testing equipment. This allows us to monitor chemical composition, mechanical properties, non-destructive testing and geometric dimensions, including bend radius, leg length, thread dimensions and coating condition.
Our quality system is certified to ISO 9001. Acceptance criteria, sampling plans and documentation requirements are agreed at the quotation stage so that inspection records match the project specification.
Customization, Packaging and Delivery Scope
Customized production is our core business. We develop and manufacture U-bolts from customer drawings or samples, including non-standard bend radii, extended legs, special thread lengths and specific material grades. Our engineering team reviews each drawing for manufacturability before quoting.
Packaging is configured for the sales channel and shipping method. We offer retail kits, blister packs, custom boxes and export cartons, and we consolidate U-bolts with other fasteners into one shipment. Our location within a two-hour drive of Shanghai and Ningbo ports supports efficient sea freight, with air freight available for urgent deliveries.
Related Fastener Range
U-bolts are part of our broader Bolts range. Projects that require a complete clamped joint can be supplied with matching nuts, washers and other bolt types from our Products catalog, including hexagon head bolts, flange bolts and foundation bolts.
Information We Use to Configure Your Solution
To prepare an accurate U-bolt configuration and quotation, we work from the following project inputs. Where a drawing is available, it takes precedence over written descriptions.
- Pipe or tube outside diameter, wall thickness and any coating or insulation thickness.
- Required inside diameter or bend radius, and tolerance class.
- Leg length, thread length and thread pitch.
- Rod diameter and material grade.
- Surface treatment and corrosion environment.
- Quantity per order and expected annual volume.
- Matching nut and washer requirements.
- Packaging format and labeling requirements.
- Destination port, delivery terms and required documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What standards do your U-bolts meet?
We manufacture U-bolts to DIN 3570:1968 for DN20–DN500 pipe sizes and to ASME B18.31.5 (US):2011 for inch-series applications. Custom U-bolts are produced to customer drawings or samples where a standard does not apply.
Can you produce U-bolts for non-standard pipe diameters?
Yes. Custom bend radii are a standard part of our U-bolt range. We manufacture to the inside diameter, leg length and thread length specified on your drawing, including clearance for pipe coating or insulation.
Which materials and finishes are available?
U-bolts are produced in carbon steel and stainless steel. Hot-dip galvanizing is available for carbon steel parts used outdoors, underground or in marine environments. Stainless grades are selected where corrosion resistance is the primary requirement.
How do you ensure U-bolt quality?
Inspections are conducted after each process step, and 100% of finished products undergo final inspection against customer requirements and international standards. Our laboratory uses a spectrometer, CMM and X-ray flaw detector to verify chemical composition, mechanical properties, non-destructive testing and geometric dimensions.
What is your production capacity and lead time?
Our facilities operate 12 modern production lines with an annual capacity exceeding 20,000 tons. Lead time depends on material, finish and order quantity, and is confirmed at the quotation stage.
Can U-bolts be supplied with matching nuts and washers?
Yes. We supply matching hexagon nuts and washers with U-bolt orders, and we can consolidate these with other fasteners from our Bolts and Nuts ranges into a single shipment with unified packaging.
