DIN 835:2025 b1≈2d Double End Stud

DIN 835:2025 b1≈2d Double End Stud is used where one end is screwed into a base component and the other end is fastened with a nut. The b1≈2d engagement length is suitable for base connections requiring deeper thread engagement and reliable location.

A double end stud allows repeated removal of the outer nut without repeatedly wearing the internal thread of the base. It is used in flanges, pumps, valves, equipment housings, molds, and machinery mounting faces. The middle shank or non-engaged section can provide location and support.

Engagement length, exposed-end length, thread size, and base material should be confirmed. For cast iron, aluminum alloy, or softer materials, thread depth and thread-strength compatibility are especially important.

  • Now that we've covered bolts, their "perfect partner" — the nut — is much easier to understand. • Simply put, a bolt is a cylindrical fastener with external threads. It works with a matching nut or is screwed directly into a threaded hole of the mating part to firmly hold two or more components together. To put it intuitively, think of it as a "metal nail." However, unlike a nail that is driven in with a hammer, a ...
