ASME B18.2.1 (T9):2012 External Hexalobular Torx Screw

ASME B18.2.1 (T9):2012 External Hexalobular Torx Screw combines an external Torx drive with a flanged bearing surface. It is suitable for threaded joints requiring stable tool engagement, higher assembly efficiency, and reduced washer use.

The screw can be driven into tapped holes or used with internally threaded components for automotive parts, motors, machinery housings, brackets, and equipment panels. The flange distributes clamping pressure, and the external Torx drive supports automated or high-efficiency installation.

Drive size, engagement depth, base material strength, and finish should be confirmed. For high-speed production lines, drive-head accuracy and tool wear should be controlled to maintain stable tightening.

  • A screw is a fastening tool that utilizes the principle of an inclined spiral plane to join or secure objects together. Its core structure consists of a cylindrical body with continuous threads (like spiral ridges), typically featuring a head at one end for convenient rotation. When turned, the rotational motion is con...

Simply put, a nut is a small metal block or disc with a round hole in the center and internal threads on the wall of that hole. • Simply put, a bolt is a cylindrical fastener with external threads. It works with a matching nut or is screwed directly into a threaded hole of the mating part to firmly hold two or more components together. To put it intuitively, think of it as a "metal nail." However, unlike a nail that is driven in with a hammer, a ...
