ASME/ANSI B18.6.5M (T21):2000 Metric Hex Head Flange Tapping Screw uses metric dimensions, an external hex head, and a flange bearing surface. It is suitable for engineering applications requiring broad contact area, fast socket installation, and tapping capability.

The flange surface distributes clamping load, reduces indentation on sheet metal or bracket surfaces, and improves joint stability. The tapping thread reduces the need for pre-tapping and nuts, making it useful for field installation, replacement service, and high-volume light structural assembly.
