ASME B18.6.3 (T33-I):2013 Hex Flange Phillips Screw

ASME B18.6.3 (T33-I):2013 Hex Flange Phillips Screw combines a Phillips recess with an external hex form, giving the installer flexible drive options. It can be driven by a screwdriver or by a socket when higher torque is needed.

The flanged head provides a larger bearing surface for thin sheet, plastic parts, light brackets, and equipment panels. The Phillips recess supports quick positioning in confined areas, while the hex form helps during later service or higher-torque removal.

This screw is suitable for electronics, instrument housings, light industrial assemblies, and service-friendly structures. Finishes can be selected for appearance, corrosion protection, or conductivity, and tightening torque should be controlled to avoid damaging the recess or base material.

① All edges and corners of the hexagonal surfaces are allowed to be slightly rounded.

② The fillet radius R at the junction of the hexagonal surface and the top surface of the flange shall not be greater than 0.15 times the nominal diameter of the screw.

③ If the nominal diameter is specified in decimals, the zero before the decimal and the fourth digit after the decimal point should be omitted.

④ The cross recess insertion measurement depth consists of two parts: the recess depth and the cross recess depth. Since the change of the recess depth exists objectively, the cross recess insertion measurement depth can be determined through negotiation between the manufacturer and the user.
